It saddens us to announce the cancelation of this year’s 4th of July Parade. This was not an easy decision. Downtown Martinez & Co. Executive Director and Board of Directors are incredibly disappointed and understand our community will be as well.
As we move forward with the reopening of our economy on the projected June 15th date, there remains much unknown about the guidelines for large scale events and the Parade is one of our largest event gatherings. The safety of our community is the top priority.
We know many of you are eager to get back to some sense of normalcy and see our events return, whole heartedly I can assure you, SO ARE WE!!! Downtown Martinez & Co. is working diligently on our upcoming event schedule and plans to resume all Downtown Martinez & Co. produced events in September 2021. The return of our Open Air Market will be July 11th and we are looking into any additional event possibilities prior to September.
We ask you to please be patient and kind as we work through the new guidelines and hurdles we are given and anticipate in the event industry. The local permitting agencies have not caught up with the projected June 15th reopening date leaving many event production questions unanswered.
Continue to follow Downtown Martinez & Co. on social media, sign up for our newsletter and visit our website at downtownmartinez.org to be the first to know about upcoming events as plans develop. We anticipate these announcements will progress quickly and are looking forward to seeing you soon!
